Yosemite National Park in California is beautiful beyond description. Towering cliffs frame massive waterfalls throughout the main Yosemite Valley region. The upper reaches of the park offer high alpine peaks and heavily glaciated regions of granite. The park is immense though most all of the park is a wilderness area. The Valley has accomodations and restaurants with all the amenities while still maintaining a unique and pristine environment. This doesn't mean it is uncrowded cuz it is. Especially in the summer months. Try the valley in the spring or fall but if you must go in the summer, go early or late in the day and explore the rest of the area during the middle of the day.
