June Lake

Welcome!
The Eastern Sierra is a vast and diverse locale. There are many nooks and crannies that can be explored and enjoyed. There are remote spots and there are cities with all the ammenities. The June Lake Village has both. All you have to do is visit this area one time and you will be hooked! Hooked on the fishing, the hiking, the skiing , the snowboarding. And what you will like best is the locals remembering your name in that small town way. The chance to explore wild and pristine valleys holding some of the prettiest lakes in the range, will have you ready to move to June Lake for good. TheJune Lake Loop ( Highway 158 ) is a 14 mile stretch of highway which branches off of highway 395. There are 4 major lakes which sit directly next to the road. There are giant trout in these lakes and fisherman from the worldover have been coming here since the 1920's for their chance to land "ol'Moe". The summer fishing season is only half the fun however.

During the winter months the June Mountain Ski Area opens up and the real fun begins. The front face of June Mountain, directly above the roadway, is one of the ten steepest sustained ski slopes in America. The upper mountain, abovethe face, is a hanging valley with easy to intermediate terrain. The J7 chair at the top of June Mountain offers up some high altitude steep skiing with nary a crowd in sight. Near the mid mountain chalet snowboarders willfind the best halfpipe around with many hot local riders to rip it up with. This is a fun and friendly mountain to shred on and the local's will be glad to see you!
