Looking for Betty Atkins

My whole life, my mom has been looking for a long lost friend named Betty Atkins. I believe her middle name is Lynn. She would be about 63 years old today. As far as I know, Betty is originally from Bishop and was the granddaughter of a woman the locals called "Granny Woods." She was my mother's best friend for some time, but they lost touch in about 1971 or 1972, around which time both Betty and my mother were pregnant with their first child. I believe that Betty's child was a boy. My mom, Betty Jo, would very much like to get in touch with her lost friend, and any information would be very helpful. I understand that there are scary people on the internet who are not who they say they are, so I understand if anyone with information about Betty would like to get more information about me or my parents to verify our identities before sharing info. I do not know anybody by the last name Atkins in the area and do not see any Atkinses in the phone book. I think the only other idea is if you can name someone who might know her that is still in the area. When I google some of the terms, I get this post in the results. So there is a small chance she'll google herself and find she is wanted.
