Benton is located about 35 miles north of Bishop on Hwy. 6 which heads to Tonopah, Nevada. There isn't much but the Benton Hot Springs make this a real great place to go if you want to get away from it all. Highway 120 leaves Benton from Highway 6 and travels over to Lee Vining and Yosemite. This is a real nice alternative loop instead of traveling straight up Highway 395 and the few extra miles are well worth it with dramatic views and unspoiled solitude abounding everywhere.
