WEATHER
The weather has been great. Daytime temps in the 70’s with the nights in the 40’s. Some high clouds during the daytime. Extremely nice.
SOUTH LAKE
The water level is high with ample area for launching. Fishing has been spectacular. So Cal Edison planted a half-ton of Alpers Trout and they have been coming out regularly. Nightcrawlers or Powerbait have been super from shore. Trolling with a small Rapala or using lead core line with a red gold Thomas Buoyant or Needlefish has been effective. Behind the island with Trout Traps has been producing.
BISHOP CREEK
The water level is very good but the fishing has been fairly slow. Some luck with Nightcrawlers A little luck with Panther Martins. If not catching fish where you are it is important to move. The fish are there it is just a matter of being in the right spot.
NORTH LAKE AND INTAKE II
North Lake. Water level is great and the fishing has been very good. Red Gold Thomas Buoyants are great. Lots of limits with Trout Traps and a bobber.
Intake two also is doing very well. Lots of great fishing with Powerbait or Nightcrawlers. Quite a few float tubers have been doing well.
Lake Sabrina has been great. SCE also put 1000 lbs. of Alpers here and they are coming up for food. Great luck with Nightcrawlers. Trolling with Rapalas or Thomas Buoyants working well. Super fishing right now.
BACKCOUNTRY
Some snow real high up but the closer lakes are very open and fishing very well. Panther Martins doing well or using an olive Wooly Bugger with a bobber. A few mosquitoes showing up but not bad yet. The backcountry is great right now.
