Neighbors chickens ruffle feathers in Calif. town
BISHOP, Calif. Two redheads got the feathers flying. Lucy and Goose were just tending to their business of clucking, laying eggs and pecking up bugs in Laura Smiths backyard. Theyre like vacuum cleaners, Smith said. There isnt a bug or a spider out here.

Local CHP welcomes new recruits to ranks
Local law enforcement are welcoming two new recruits into their ranks. Brance Bowen, 31, of San Jose and David Owen, 22, of Yuba City recently completed the grueling 27-week CHP Boot Camp and got their first taste of patrol on Inyo County roads earlier this week.
